Hey guys, so I'm new here and I don't know anything about anything you guys talk about here.

I would like some help getting started. So if someone would just give me some basic info or send me to a beginners tutorial I would appreciate that.

Thanks

I am brand new to these forums too.
This looks like a good place to jump in.
I have a Wii that is using Homebrew and backup games on USB along with Emulators.

I would like to get an DSi XL and have similar set up (Back up game loader without original game cartridges, emulators, homebrew, music, pictures, etc.).

I have been searching the forums here, it looks like there is no software mod for the DSi XL; rather, it requires a Flash Cartridge along with a micro SD card.
I have an 8 GB micro SD card that was planning to use after a reformat (clean off) from an old smart phone.
I have been searching for which Flash Cart to get...what's the best one to allow me to easily play backup games (for my son too) as well as emulators, and homebrew stuff?

FYI, I have NOT purchases the DSi XL yet, nor have I purchased any Flash Cart like the SuperCard or the Acekard....

Is there a step by step guide that explains how to set up a DSi XL to do what I explained?

It seems like once you have the Flash Cart, you just copy stuff to the micro SD card and you're all set? Is it more complex than this?

How do I rip a backup of an official nintendo DS game, and manage (move on and off of the SD card) with my PC? What program?

Thanks everyone....sorry for being such a noob, but I need help!

I think that you are best of getting an acekard. You can have a look at my guide "how to hack your dsi" in the tutorials section. It is about the fifth from above. In that section are also other guides that answer most of your questions. However, next time, start your own thread, that keeps the forum tidy ;)

The three main, simple rules:
1. Don't ask for roms or say you did download one.
2. Advising on where to buy is ok, but never spam
3. Never post links, except to downloads or news sources
If you don't follow these rules, enjoy your ban

Supercard DSTWO is a great choice. It plays all nds games for me it also has some good apps and emulator.

There is a tutorial for backing up games in the tutorials section

Swiizard beat me to it
